A two-vehicle crash Tuesday in Eldred Township resulted in a road being closed for an hour and a half. 23-year old Christine Cooper of Eldred was traveling south on Barnum Road at around 12:30 when she lost control, spun counterclockwise and slid into the oncoming lane, striking a 1994 Chevy Cavalier driven by 18-year old Andy Crawford, also of Eldred. Crawford’s car was driven off the road and into a utility pole, causing the pole to break and wires to fall onto the roadway. Cooper and 16-year old Matt Morris, a passenger in Crawford’s vehicle, reported minor injuries, Crawford was not injured. Eldred Fire Department and Otto Township ambulance assisted at the scene, and the road was closed until electric company crews could secure the wires.
