Alcohol-related deaths in McKean and Potter Counties increased in the year 2004. According to PennDOT, in both counties, alcohol was involved in three deaths, up from one in 2003. Fatalities where the victim was not wearing a seatbelt also increased in both counties in 2004. In McKean county, there were four deaths of people without seatbelts, while in Potter county, there were two deaths, both an increase of one from the year before.
