Emporium Teen Waives Hearing

An Emporium man charged for several burglaries at Emporium residences waived
his preliminary hearing Thursday. 18-year old Casey Strahl is charged with
burglary and other charges, six of which were added Thursday. Included in
the six additional charges were corruption of minors, hindering prosecution
and obstructing the administration of law. The state and borough police
discussed the case with Strahl’s lawyers and District Attorney Tom Tompkins
for almost an hour before waiving the hearing. Strahl, who was not
previously cooperating with police, has now changed his mind.
