The state game commission is now giving its support for the atlatl , a
prehistoric weapon used for hunting deer.
Earlier this month, the commission staff said the weapons were not lethal
enough to be humane. But the commissioners say it's a legitimate and lethal
weapon.
Today's vote in favor of the atlatl means the state attorney general's
office will have to review the issue, and that it will have to be advertised
for public comment.
A final vote is expected by the game commission in April.
