A new name is in store for Pennsylvania’s district justices. Beginning January 29th, all 555 justices will be called magisterial district justices. The new name was signed into law on November 30th, 2004 by Governor Rendell, after some district justices requested a name that more accurately described their duties. All powers and salary remain unchanged.
