Stop Sign Thief From Smethport Nabbed in Bradford

A Smethport man was arraigned Wednesday for theft charges. 19-year old Ryan Kelley was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and criminal mischief for stealing several signs on December 19th. Kelley was charged with stealing stop signs from three intersections, as well as several other signs and two parking meters from the city’s East Main street parking lot. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000. Kelley was released on non-monetary bail and a preliminary hearing is set for February 9th in front of District Justice Hauser.
