The Eldred World War II Museum and Learning center will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to observe Memorial Day. Eldred’s parade, which is organized by the Eldred VFW, will begin at 11 a.m. All veterans and those currently serving in the military are invited to participate. At 1 p.m. several guests will speak, including Second Lieutenant John James McGinty III, who served in the Marines during Vietnam, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Vetter, president of the first marine division who served during the Korean war and Marilyn Paige, the wife of the late Colonel Mitchell Paige, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient.
