Accidents on Rise For Time of Year

Traffic Crashes are picking up as the weather stays nice through August.
State Police in McKean County say that in the past 24 hours, they've had
three crashes, and this weekend showed even more.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says that August 3, 4, and 6 rank
in the Top Ten for the deadliest days for traffic crashes. August is
definitely ranked as the deadliest month.

Police say people get complacent about driving habits when the weather gets
nice. Alcohol use and driving tend to increase in the dog days of August as
well.
