Emergency Services Tax Increase in Lewis Run

The Lewis Run borough has passed a 2006 budget with no increase in taxes at
the special Friday meeting. However there are proposed raises to items such
as the Emergency Services tax to $40. The former Occupational Privilege tax
will be voted on, on January 26. a one dollar a month increase is also
being implemented to the water fee for maintenance and repair needs. The
borough reports that they have not heard from the Pennsylvania Department of
Environmental Protection regarding a test on the borough water wells that
were conducted on December 20.
