Community leaders from throughout the region are working on a strategic plan
for the secondary wood products industry.
Consultants met with the leaders to discuss tourism and other ways to bring
visitors to the area, including a center for excellence in the wood products
industry.
Liz Boni, one of the organizers of Ridgway's Chainsaw Rendezvous says
tourism develops amenities that are also necessary for industrial
recruitment.
The Lumber Heritage Region and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford
started the strategic plan.
