Zippo received good news Monday when The Transportation security administration released a change in the ruling on lighters in checked luggage. The new rule allows zippo lighters without fluid to be packed in bags which are checked, however lighters with fluid in them are still prohibited on flights. Senator Rick Santorum says an empty lighter in a cargo hold is absolutely no threat.

The ruling brings relief to zippo collectors and swap meet attendees, who would have been unable to transport their lighters conveniently if the complete ban remained.
