Sales Tax Drop in NY

NY State will see a drop in sales tax today. The state Medicaid portion dropped from 4 and a quarter percent to 4 percent at midnight. That means in most of New York, the tax will drop from 8 and a quarter to eight percent Some county lawmakers are proposing a county tax increase to recover that quarter percent tax to generate extra revenue.
