Kane School district could get a 10 percent increase in the property tax. Monday’s school board budget committee proposed the increase, which would raise taxes about 36-45 dollars on average this year.
The board will vote on the tax increase Wednesday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kane middle school auditorium in a public meeting. Even with the proposed tax increase in place, Kane would still rank last in taxes among school districts in both McKean and Elk Counties.
