Lightning struck a church in Olean Tuesday, sending bricks flying into other yards. The Trinity United Methodist church on North Ninth street was struck by lightning around 10:45 p.m. Pastor Gerald Piper went out to investigate and found bricks scattered throughout the area from the 75-foot tower on the church. Some bricks are still loose on the tower.
