Cherry Tree Chopped Down

State Police are investigating an attempted theft from Forest Investment
Associated in Smethport, along the South Side of State Route 59 in Keating
Township. Sometime between July 14 and Friday, an unknown person cut down a
veneer cherry tree worth one thousand dollars.

Police say the criminal lumberjack attempted to remove the logs, but was
unsuccessful.
