Fire Company Grants

Three area fire departments have received grants from the Department of
Homeland Security Thursday. The grants were distributed through the
assistance to firefighters grants program and gave over $70,500 to Mt Jewett
Volunteer Fire Department, a little under $200 thousand to North Warren
Volunteer Fire Department and Hilltop VFD is in line to receive over $209
thousand. North Warren and Hilltop both requested funds for vehicle
acquisition while Mt Jewett's funds were requested for Operations and
Safety.
