The DEP was called out along with emergency crews after a crash in Potter
County. A late model Osh Kosh tractor from the Four Winds Farm in Ulysses
slipped gears and lost its breaks on Genesee Mils Road. The tractor then
struck a stop sign, hit a ditch, and rolled over, blocking the roadway. The
tractor was pulling a load of liquid manure, which was dumped onto the
highway.
Farm owner Richard Van Etten was not injured in the incident.
The Four Winds Farm recently received a grant to build a generator to turn
manure into fuel for an electric generator.
