Merritt Escapes Injury In Truck Fire

A vehicle fire in Shippen township did not leave anyone injured. Michael Merritt of St. Mary’s pulled over his pick up when he noticed flames Wednesday on East Hicks Run road. The fire was under the dash, he got out safely before the 2000 Silverado was engulfed. Emporium volunteers regulated the flames.
