The local chapter of the American Red Cross has raised more than 25 thousand
dollars in aid for victims of Hurricane Katrina so far. Executive Director
Greg Ulyan says the local office does not have the resources needed to deal
with food, clothing, and supply donations, but can except cash. The local
chapter will offer disaster readiness courses September 21,22, and 23. 32
people had signed up for the classes as of Sunday night.

The Red Cross hopes to garner 40 thousand more volunteers nationwide to help
with Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.
