Police arrested the man they believe was driving the SUV that hit and killed
Jason Knight on the day after Thanksgiving.
Knights body was found by a passer-by around 8:30 a.m. Nov. 28. Police
believe the 32-year-old's body might have been mistaken for a deer by
passing motorists. Knight was walking along State Route 157 in Pinegrove
Township, Venango County, after a vehicle he was a passenger in was in a
minor accident.
35-year-old Gregory C. Schwabenbauer of Tylersburg was arraigned December 2
on charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death or personal
injury to another person. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
Police say they cracked the case after the SUV was taken to a shop for
repairs.
