Jamie Himes Dana will get to keep her dog. The Defense appropriation bill was kicked back to clarify wording in one portion, but the language that would allow for the adoption of a military dog by its handler was approved, and the chances of that being removed from this point on are slim, according to legislative officials in Washington.

Dana is in Colorado after a lengthy recovery from injuries sustained in Iraq.
