Alleged Child Abuser Gets Court Date

A Port Allegany man charged with abuse of his infant son will have a preliminary hearing April 15 in front of District Judge James Miller. 20-year old Timothy Maben is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Maben allegedly caused serious injury to his son between December 24th and January 31st by shaking and roughly handling the infant. More incidents allegedly occurred between February 1st and 9th. According to medical reports from a Danville Hospital, the infant has extensive brain injury and has lost his sight and some of his hearing from the alleged abuse. The hearing was originally scheduled for March 21st but was moved to allow a larger time frame for the hearing to be completed.
