Applications are being acepted for a workship geared toward career development.
Opportunity Knocks (OK) is a free program funded by an Earmark Grant and run by the Potter County Education Council with referrals and assistance from other county agencies. It consists of a 6-week (210 hour) training session to run Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Child care and travel assistance will be available to eligible participants.
The focus of this program is to match eligible individuals who show a strong potential for succeeding in higher education with the future employment needs of Potter County which include, but are not limited to, careers in education and health care.
The Galeton session will begin with orientation on April 13 and will then run from 9AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday from April 18th through May 27th. The classes will be held at the Potter County Education Council Galeton office located at 35 Main Street.
