Time Warner and Comcast have announced they will buy Adelphia’s assets for $17.6 billion in money and stock. The deal went through despite a late bid by Cablevision Systems Corp. Comcast will gain 1.8 million subscribers through the deal, while Time Warner will add 3.5 million subscribers to their service.
