State representative Martin Causer and State Senator Joe Scarnati voted against a measure to place an issue on the public ballot, though an overwhelming majority of state congressmen voted to leave matter to the voters.
The resolution is to determine if the state should borrow 625 million dollars to go toward environmental clean up and land conservation. Scarnati and Causer both said the budget is extremely tight, and that the money should be used for other things.

Causer says he’s concerned the money would go toward the state buying more land.Scarnati was the only senator to vote against the resolution.
