More Strip Mining in Cameron County?

A Pubic hearing will be held May 25 to discuss a second strip mining permit in Cameron County.

Cameron County residents were set ablaze last year when Allegany Enterprises applied for a permit to reclaim abandoned mines on Huston Hill.

Allegany Enterprises first application was approved by the Department of Environmental Protection.
The companies second permit application requests permission to pull coal out of a nearby hillside.
