The Olean City Fire Investigation team has determined the cause of a fatal fire Friday morning on West Oak Street. The fire was caused by discarded smoking material in the front apartment, where 37-year old Bruce McElheney lived. McElheney was killed in the blaze, while all five occupants of the other two apartments in the home escaped without injury. The house is not habitable and damages are estimated at $20,000 or more.
