Representative Martin Causer has proposed legislation to transfer
responsibilities for emergency medical services. House Bill 1282 will be the
subject of a public hearing Thursday, August 18th in State College. The bill
suggests transferring the responsibilities from the state Department of
Health to the newly created Emergency Medical Services Agency or PEMSA. The
bill also suggests the director of PEMSA be appointed by the governor.
