Fuel Costs Threaten Needy Families

High Energy Prices will have a huge impact on the budgets of needy families
all across the country, including McKean County.

Representative Martin Causer says needy families can seek help from the
LIHEAP program to receive vouchers for home heating oil.

As for the projected increases in gas prices, its impact on families
receiving assistance from the state could be devastating.

At this time, there are no programs to assist in the rising gas prices.

More families will be in need than ever before thanks to this years high
fuel prices.

Causer says the state legislature may look at income guidelines for
assistance programs when they resume session.
