Ridgway Crash

A Jamestown man suffered moderate injuries Tuesday morning when his truck
tractor failed to negotiate a curve in Ridgway township. State Police report
36-year old Richard Gross was traveling South on State Route 948 just after
9:30 a.m. when the truck he was driving rolled onto its left side and slid
along the berm. Route 948 was closed while crews worked to remove the truck.

None of the petroleum gas the truck was carrying was spilled during the
accident, however nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution. Gross was
taken to Elk Regional Medical center for treatment of chest and head
injuries. Charges of driving a vehicle at a safe speed are pending against
him.
