Smethport Fire Ruled Arson

A suspicious Fire Sunday evening in Smethport pulled in the State Police
Fire Marshal. Officials say a fire at the track shed at Smethport Area
School District was caused by arson.

Half of the Metal Pole building was on fire, though no damage was reported
to the driver's ed vehicle, any lawn equipments, or track equipment. Some
beams and plastic pipe in the building were charred, causing 12 thousand
dollars in damage.
