Dr. Larry Grunden, Senior Food Industry Technical Specialist with Penn State
University Technology Assistance Program, is scheduled to speak at the next
meeting of the Food Matrix Group. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. on October
19, 2005 and will be held at the Coudersport office of the Potter County
Education Council located at 227 N. Main Street. All interested parties are
encouraged to attend and the meeting is open to the public.
The Food Matrix is a group of local citizens involved in businesses
related to the agriculture and/or food industries interested in expanding
the local economy. The vision of the Food Matrix is to be a community-based
organization committed to the promotion, development, and sustainability of
an entrepreneurial, agricultural, food, and small business centered economy.
Ideas being explored by the Food Matrix include the expansion of the local
farmers' market, a kitchen incubator, retail store, and agri-tourism. The
Food Matrix is always seeking local citizens to become involved in the group
and share their ideas related to the local agricultural and food-based
economy. If you are interested and would like more information, please
contact Helene Nawrocki at helene@pottercountyedcouncil.org or 814-274-4877.
