The Kane Area School Board is faced with the decision of whether or not to
close the Mount Jewett Elementary School.
School District superintendent Sandy Chlopecki, says the district is
concerned with low enrollment at the school.
Two classes have only 10 students each, and there is no kindergarten class
at Mount Jewett this year.
The decline in enrollment may be addressed by a Warren company that is doing
a "facilities option" study for the school district.
The study should be completed by the end of this year or early next year.
