Bradford Man Charged with Insurance Fraud

A Bradford man was arrested for allegedly scamming an insurance company out
of one hundred and 23 thousand dollars.

71-year-old Lauren Dart of Seaward Avenue allegedly submitted about 28
hundred claims for prescription drug reimbursements for more than 117
thousand dollars.

The claims were sent to the insurance company Dart was covered by while
working as a consultant for Herzog Fuel Oil Service.

Attorney General Tom Corbett says that he also submitted 156 claims for
medical treatment that he or his wife purportedly received from 11 different
doctors or clinics.

Dart was charged with insurance fraud and theft by deception, then arraigned
by District Judge Barbara Boser. He was released on 10 thousand dollars
unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 19th.
