Bradford Meat Thief Pleads Guilty To Assisting Escape

A Bradford man pleaded guilty to conspiracy and retail theft for stealing
meat from a local Supermarket.

On March 16, Charles Johnson put two whole beef tenderloins under his shirt
and left the store. He was nabbed with the meat and sent to jail.

While in Jail, he assisted McKean County Jail Inmate David Davis in an
escape attempt. Johnson pleaded guilty to distracting guard officials while
Davis hoisted himself over the fence.

Davis was seriously injured in the incident.

Sentencing for Johnson is set for February 9th.
