Limestone residents are still pleading with the school board to keep the
elementary school opened.
Former Limestone school board member Louis Lucco said that when the Allegany
and Limestone school districts merged in 1995, Limestone residents were
assured that the school would stay opened for the foreseeable future.
Consultants have said that the district would save about 282 thousand
dollars in one year if it's closed.
The board is expected to make a decision on February 21st.
