Congressman John Peterson says provisions in the Deficit Reduction Act of
2005 will ensure better and more open access to health care services in
rural parts of northwest and central Pennsylvania.
The bill includes a provision that would allow people who have long-term
care policies to qualify for Medicaid without spending their entire life
savings.
Peterson says affordable, reliable and open access to quality health care is
vital to the continued growth of rural communities.
He adds that the bill is far from perfect, but it's more equitable than
previous health care measures.
