Two women putting up decorations in a church building noticed a fire, and
saved the building before the blaze got out of control.

Shinglehouse Fire Chief Doug Estes says the woman were decorating the Bell
Run Union church's multipurpose building in Ceres Township when they saw
fire coming from an adjoining room and soon learned it was coming from a
stereo that was playing Christmas music.

Beth Bell and Cheri Thomas used fire extinguishers to keep the fire under
control while waiting for firefighters to arrive.

The church play the women were decorating for will go on as scheduled.
