The Olean Soccer Club has decided not to buy land from the City of Olean
because it's contaminated.
Environmental testing on the West Henley Street property in the mid-90s
shows that it contains chromium and arsenic.
The report says the land can be used for commercial development, but not for
parks or public use.
Neither Mayor William Quinlan nor members of Common Council knew about the
report because it was done before any of them took office.
The soccer club is now looking at two other sites in Olean.
