A Potter County teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident in Hebron Township Thursday. The 16-year-old female lost control while negotiating a right curve at unsafe speeds, descending over a 20 foot embankment. The vehicle rolled over completely. The juvenile received minor injuries.

A Roulette Woman called State Police after an incident on Route 6. While 21 year old Erika Landes was traveling along the highway, about one mile east of Fishing Creek, several large stones fell from a large red dump trick with a black dump bed. The stones damaged her 2000 Mercury Cougar.

A collision in Hebron Township led to the charges of DUI against an Oswayo woman. 42-year-old Kathleen Davis lost control of her Plymouth sedan Monday night and went over an embankment. Davis, who was not injured, was found to be driving under the influence and charged.

An Olean woman was charged for theft after she did not return a rental car for six months. 36-year-old Heather Hyland rented a car from E and G Rental Car in Coudersport on May 7th, and then allegedly never paid for or returned the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to E and G last Thursday, and charged were filed. Hyland will appear in a preliminary hearing Friday.

The Ulysses man who was charged after calling Police to say he had a sawed off shotgun, faces new charges. 30-year-old Shawn Crowner is charged with theft of services for the month of October, after he allegedly broke a lock off a PPL gas meter, and stole 300 dollars worth of natural gas. Crowner was also listed by State Police last week as a victim of harassment.

The Potter County woman whose 2-year-old girl was killed in January was arraigned and charged with endangerment. 23-year-old Arlene Haines was picked up on Colorado, and extradited back to Pennsylvania this month. Witnesses say Haines was aware that her live – in boyfriend had abused her children. She also faces aggravated assault charges for instances in which she used excessive force to discipline her children, who are currently in the care of Children and Youth.

Good news for McKean County Commissioners, who decided to pull the court petition to borrow fund to pay down debt. The 1.5 million dollar request was to be heard by Judge John Yoder this morning, but Tuesday afternoon, Commissioners discovered the county’s finances are better off than expected.

A Port Allegany man sits in McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail after allegedly raping a woman in the woods near Lillibridge Creek Road. 44 year old David Page faces charges of rape, sexual assault, and unlawful restraint for allegedly raping a 33 year old woman in Liberty Township. Page will attend a preliminary hearing November 29.

A Coudersport man has been the victim of theft. According to State Police out of Coudersport, Jerry Dubots had someone remove an 8500 watt portable generator and a 5 HP motor from his residence between July and November 4 of this year. Anyone with knowledge of this crime is to contact Coudersport-based State Police.

A Port Allegany fire took the life of a pet, but spared Gary Hults. Hults was awakened by a smoke alarm, and he crawled out of the building to avoid heavy smoke. The home on Upper Grimes was a total loss, with damages totaling around $120,000. The Fire Marshall says the blaze was more than likely the result of an electrical malfunction.

A Port Allegany Man pleaded guilty to drug charges and trespassing in McKeanCounty Court. 35-year-old Andrew Bird admitted to entering a fenced in area owned by Adelphia while intoxicated. When police picked him up, theydiscovered he had a small metal marijuana pipe.

Potter County’s unemployment rate is better than it has been. The PA LaborDepartment says the rate dropped a tenth of a percent in September to 6.0percent. The PA rate was 5.3 percent, and the US Rate was at 5.4 percent.

Stream Signs gracing crossings across much of Potter County were obtained as a result of a grant through Resources, Conservation and Development, saysthe Potter County Conservation District. 148 signs were distributed toPotter County Townships to be placed along roads next to stream crossings.Three major waterways find their headwaters in Potter County. The Allegany, the Susquehanna and the Genesee all find their sources springing from the fertile soils of Potter County.
