Bear Hunting in Roulette should be excellent this year. The Game Commission says it has been bustling with complaints about bear activity. Bears have also been sighted significantly at Cherry Springs. The game commission hopes to see 3,000 of the states population of 15,000 bears harvested.
The Coudy Senior Center move to the Seventh Day Adventist Church on South Main Street in Coudersport almost went without a hitch. Bacteria in the church’s spring water system caused the center to use bottled water until a filter could be installed. Attendance at senior centers across the county is up since the days doors are open have been reduced.
A ham and turkey party will be held at the Roulette Firehall on November 27th, beginning at 7:00pm. Doors open at 6. No one under the age of 21 will be permitted.
DUI charges are in the works against a Coudersport motorists after an accident in Hebron Township. 21-year-old Stacey Taubert is accused of rolling a Pontiac Sedan along Route 44 on Sunday. Taubert’s three passengers received minor injuries. Police say Taubert and all three passengers fled the scene.

Two Cleveland men were arrested in a sting operation yesterday morning. Bradford City Police organized the drug bust, which yielded 60 grams of cocaine, and the arrest of Harold Moore and Jose Arriaga. Both men were arraigned on selling coke to an informant, and placed in McKean County Jail in lieu of 100,000 bail each.
A shooting in Potter County this weekend drew the attention of State Police. An unknown perpetrator shot both a cow and a deer in Shinglehouse field. Police say the cow belonged to Denver Drake. The investigation continues.
34 Elk were picked off in Pennsylvania during the fourth session of the revivied Elk Season. 40 hunters were awarded elk licenses in a public drawing in September harvested 12 antlered elk and 22 antlerless elk
A Port Allegany man was sentenced to five to ten years in prison on sex and drug charges. 22-year-old Billy Jack Vansickles was convicted in May to several charges of sexual assault and child pornography, as well as marijuana possession. Police discovered the incident while searching for drugs, when they came across photos of him and a 14-year-old girl.

A black bear walked into the Park n’ Shop on West State Street in Olean, shortly after 8:30 on November 5th. The bear entered through the automatic doors, urinated on the floor and left. Police cased the bear, and observed it as it meandered through the park for around two hours.
