A Smethport resident was honored recently with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Richard Tanner, who is part of the McKean County 4-H Livestock Club, received the award for his efforts to collect pop can tabs for the purchase of equipment for cancer patients at St. Jude’s Hospital. Tanner’s fellow 4-H members also collected tabs for the cause.
A Coudersport man was arraigned Sunday in front of District Justice Barbara Boser on charges involving sexual assault. 22-year old Kevin Lunn was arraigned on two counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault on a female juvenile. The incidents allegedly occurred in December and January on East Main Street in Bradford. Lunn was sent to McKean County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for March 23 at District Justice Chris Hauser’s office.
State Police in Potter County report an incident of Aggravated Assault in Genesee Township. 44-year-old Tina Edwards is accused of shooting at 48 year old Anthony Frungillo of Wellsville. Edwards missed Frungillo with the shots, but hit the floor of her home. Police arrested Edwards and charged her with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, Simpole Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. She was released on 5000 secured bail. Police confiscated the handgun in her home.
Roulette Woman Christine Bowser of Roulette called state police at the end of January to report an incident of animal abuse. After an investigation, Police cited 18-year-old Orry Murray with cruelty to Animals for shooting Bowser’s cat with a BB gun, and then removing the dead animal to conceal the evidence. Bowser also contacted Police this weekend to report that she had been struck by 30 year old Clifford Bowser.
A Roulette crash early Monday morning was reported by State Police. 38-year-old April Stuckey lost control of her Chevy Blazer along Route 6 east of Port Allegany. The vehicle struck a rocky embankment and rolled onto its side. Stuckey received minor injuries.
A Seventeen Hundred Dollar phone bill prompted a Potter Couny man to call State Police. 24-year-old Sean Procuri of Genesee reported his Motorola Cell Phone was stolen sometime around January 22. The unknown thieves racked up the bill, and Procuri contacted State Police.
A Port Allegany man was arrested for DUI last week. State Police say early Thursday morning, 31 year old Jason Bird was pulled over for traffic violations, and Police determined him to be DUI.
Adelphia Communications is having a hard time selling its assets. The $17.6 Billion dollar company wants to sell it’s whole operation for cash, not just as a cash and stock option buyout. The companies that had interest in the company, Time Warner and Comcast, are willing to purchase the fifth largest cable operation, but negotiations continue, no deal has been struck yet.
An Altercation occurred on main street in Roulette Wednesday, where 30 year old Clifford Bowser struck 48 year old Christina Bowser multiple times in the face. Charges are pending.
A violation of underage drinking along with possession of controlled substances and other related items have led to an arraignment by District Justice Annette Easton in Coudersport. 19 year old Michael Jordan of Cuba, and 20 year old Anthony Fuller of Portville, were caught along River Lane in Coudersport.
